Water Treatment Services

Littleton’s water is hard, and it’s treated with chloramine rather than chlorine. Those are two different problems that need two different solutions — which is why so many homeowners end up with a system that doesn’t fix the thing that was actually bothering them. We install reverse osmosis, whole-house filtration, salt-based water softeners, and HALO conditioning systems. Below is how we decide which one you actually need. We’d rather sell you the right thing once than the expensive thing twice.

Water Treatment in Littleton: What's Actually in Your Water

Littleton’s water comes from Denver Water, and two things about it drive almost every call we get.

It’s hard. Published figures for the area run roughly 8 to 11 grains per gallon depending on your provider and the season — well above the national average. You see it as spotted dishes, film on the shower door, crusty faucet heads, soap that won’t lather, and scale quietly building inside your water heater. None of it is dangerous. All of it costs you money slowly, mostly in appliances that die years early.

It’s treated with chloramine, not chlorine. Denver Water has used chloramine since 1918. It’s more stable than free chlorine and keeps water protected across a large distribution system — but it is considerably harder to filter out, and that changes which equipment actually works here.

Here’s the part most homeowners never hear: standard activated carbon removes free chlorine easily but barely touches chloramine at normal household flow rates — testing puts it under 20% removal. Catalytic carbon, a different media entirely, is what actually does the job.

So a bargain filter advertised as “removes chlorine” can be close to useless against what is actually in Littleton’s water, and the homeowner has no way of knowing. That is the most common mistake we see, and it is why we ask what is bothering you before we recommend anything.

Our Water Treatment Services Include:

Water Filtration Systems

Sediment and carbon filtration treating every tap in the house. This is what handles chlorine, chloramine, taste and odor. Because Denver Water uses chloramine, the type of carbon matters — catalytic carbon is what actually removes it.

Water Softener Installation

True ion exchange — it physically removes the calcium and magnesium. The strongest answer for severe scale, and the only way to get that silky soft-water feel. Every softener we install includes a sediment and carbon prefilter.

Reverse Osmosis Systems

Installed at the kitchen sink, where your drinking and cooking water comes from. RO is the only system we install that genuinely removes fluoride, and it is the most effective option available against PFAS.

HALO 5 Water Conditioning

Keeps your minerals, loses the chemicals, and protects your pipes from scale — without the slippery soft-water feel or hauling bags of salt. Five stages, including catalytic carbon. We are certified HALO installers, not dealers.
